Set up SSS's new laptop(Rodney), moved her things off my PC so she could read fic. Eventually I'll need to quiz data_warrior on wireless stuff but for now she can read so she is good.

Bought my new CPU fan for Damien. Yay! Bought him some new Ram too. It was supposed to replace the stuff I bought last that didn't work. This doesn't appear to work either.

Drooled at the Eee PC.

Still looking at CPU fans. Some are really cool looking but won't fit in my case.

Finally managed to watch the first episode of The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Nothing is really leaping out at me so far apart from Summer. So far, it definitely suffers from the lack of Linda Hamilton. JMHO

* I can't imagine anything more rude (not counting insulting their skills at writing) the asking a writer if they are writing a sequel to a story. It's really along the lines of *but what have you done for me lately*. Is it just me?
* I listened to country music, on purpose. Added it to my playlist and everything. It's all sheafrotherdon's fault.
* The Other Side by Eildon Rhymer. SGA John & Rodney Friendship. Awesome. Much crying for me but I am a wimp who cries at the drop of a hat
* The Death Note movies made me cry, no surprise there. I LOVE the guy playing L. I might actually like the changes to the story. Much more satisfying.
* Good to see the eclipse going off without a hitch. Bloody cold out though.
* Added another case fan to Damien. It is working at keeping the CPU fan calmer so... \o/.

I spent last night trying to get dvd playback in Suse 10.3. I had done everything I could think of and still the only programme that works is Mplayer. I'd be fine with this if Mplayer did screen caps but it doesn't. My research this morning seems to say I have to compile deCSS from the source code. I am afraid.

Don't you love it when things work. I definitely earned geek stripes for this. It was frustrating but I was playing with Last.FM and reading J/D so I was able to fend off the really frustrating moments and persevere in the end. I have dvd in Kaffeine. :) I'll wait until tomorrow to see if Xine works too. Why leave yourself open to bubble bursting.

The latest issue of *Archaeology* has this as its cover story, 'Lessons from the Black Death'. Right off the top of my head I'd say...*Be careful who/what you blame for things* is a biggie.
